Another new mosaic
I'm very proud of this one. We recently went on a tour of Anhauser-Busch here in St. Louis. We got to get up close to a Clydesdale, which was thrilling. I photographed this wonderful creature named Rock On. Then went home, and 100 hours later...voila! A mosaic of him. I tried to recreate the stables behind him.

I first saw the article about you in the Post-Dispatch and of course went to your website. I love your designs. I tried my hand at mosaics recently at Perrennial in St. Louis City. It is a great organization that has the mission of upcycling materials to keep things out of the landfill. Also membership helps to give lessons to people to learn how to use the tools to make things and to fix things. And members can use their workshop to create. So with broken pieces of ceramic plates and assorted pieces of glass I made a tray from an abandoned piece of wood. I realized my first mosaic was very heavy because it had too much grout and needed glass pieces closer together. Now I have a wrought iron table frame that will be my next idea. Any suggestions about keeping it light and what sort of backing would work? I am glad you have settled in the St. Louis area and will look for you at local art shows.
